1. Checkers
Checkers has ancient roots. The earliest versions of the game were found in Mesopotamia or modern Iraq during archaeological digs. It dates back to 3000 BC, and the game was played on a chess board from 1100. Then, it was believed to be a social game for women. The current version of Checkers originated in 1756, when a British mathematician wrote the current rules. The first chessboard championship was held in 1847.
2. Chess
Chess is an ancient game, and there are several theories about its origins. Perhaps the most widely accepted version is that the game originated in India in the fifth or sixth century, and one of the earliest games related to chess was called Chaturanga, which was a battle formation. Today’s chess rules were formulated in the 16th century. About three centuries later, some players began to add clocks.
3.Chutes and Ladders
Although Chutes and Ladders has been around in its current form since 1943, the concept of the game is older. The earliest versions date back to the second century B.C. in India, and the game symbolizes your life story of rising through karma, represented by the ladders, but restoring through Kama, or desire, represented by the snake.
4.Clue
Clue is the most popular board game of murder mystery invented in England between 1943 and 1945 during World War II. People spent a lot of time indoors during air raid blackouts, so pianist Anthony Pratt and his wife devised a game to help out with the time. Pratt based it on a murder mystery party game he had played before the war.
5.Connect Four
Connect Four has no confirmed history. An earlier version of the game is thought to be the famous explorer Captain Cook, who used to play four-inch games for hours in his cabin. In 1974, the Milton Bradley Company, now owned by Hasbro, coined the Connect Four name.
